Blackhouse/Pickett State Forest, Jamestown Tennessee
From the cabin take TN-297 west towards Big South Fork NRRA. After passing through the park you will come to Pickett Highway/TN-154 and turn right (North). Just after the Dark Sky Park area you will find Blackhouse road that goes off the the left (West) which is across the street from a private campground. Total distance from Oneida to the trail head is about 27 miles and will take between 45-60 minutes. There are NO gas stations on the way there so make sure you fill up first!

Pall Mall Overlook
The area has numerous trails of which hardly are marked or signed. There is no fee for this area as it is part of the state forest system. The picture above is from the overlook after a 4.5 mile trail ride. There are by-passes available for most obstacles. Pickett boasts of 20,887 acres and backs up to the Tennessee Nature Conservation area called Tally Wilderness area which adds another 1,100 acres. This is in addition to the 469 acres in the Dobb Creek Preserve and 1,000 acres at Pickett State Park. A map of the area may be purchased at the Blackhouse ATV campground located at the intersection of TN-154 (Pickett Highway) and Blackhouse Road for about $10.00. No permits are required for this area.
